The Brian Johnston Memorial
Trust was founded by Brian’s widow, Pauline Johnston in 1995. The objects
of the charity are:
* The award of Brian Johnston Scholarships
to promising young cricketers in need of financial support to fulfil
their potential.
* The support of sport for the disabled, particularly cricket for the
blind.
These awards are funded mainly through membership of the Johnners Club
and the annual Johnners Club Dinner in the spring of each year.
In December 1999 the Brian Johnston Memorial Trust joined
forces with the Lord’s
Taverners and is now based in the Taverners offices at
10 Buckingham Place, London. SW1E 6HX.
STOP PRESS
Thank you to all those who attended the annual drinks party to celebrate Brian Johnston’s birthday on 24th June. Barry, Clare and Andrew Johnston joined a gathering of Johnners club members at the Lord’s Taverners headquarters in Victoria to enjoy a glass or two of wine and some very tasty nibbles and to remember Brian on what would have been his 98th birthday. We hope to welcome even more members to the party next year (and put 24th June 2012 in your diary for his centenary!)
